Visual Art

The Arts aspect of the curriculum covers both Performing and Visual arts and is closely tied to the classroom programs.

Students are given the opportunity to explore various media and techniques such as painting, drawing, sculpture, textiles and construction.

The Visual Arts curriculum aims to develop students':

  • conceptual and perceptual ideas and expressions through design and inquiry processes
  • visual art techniques, materials, processes and technologies
  • critical and creative thinking
  • confidence, curiosity, imagination and enjoyment
  • respect for traditions, histories and cultures of artists

The Performing Arts curriculum encourages students to:

  • explore their emotions
  • expand their imagination
  •  develop their own unique voice
  • develop a greater sense of confidence

St Albans Heights has over recent years greatly enhanced the school grounds by displaying artworks by students such as murals and mosaics around the buildings. Artwork is displayed around the corridors allowing others to appreciate the many artistic skills.

Our concert performances have raised students artistic skills to new levels.
