Science at St. Albans Heights Primary School is based upon a program developed over many years by the Australian Academy of Science and is aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
The Science program is framed by the four main disciplines of science – Physical science, Biological science, Chemical science and Earth and Space science.
All students in years Prep to Six participate in a specialist Science session on a weekly basis in the Science room.
Science lessons are based upon a teaching and learning approach that allows students to Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate and Evaluate their own learning. All students participate in either teacher led or student led scientific investigations using the inquiry-based learning model.
Students work both individually and in collaborative teams of three - this encourages discussion, participation, debate, communication of ideas and teamwork.
We LOVE science at St. Albans Heights primary school!
